What is a mini session?

A mini session is a shorter, simplified version of a full photography experience — typically around 15 minutes, held on select dates at specialty locations. They’re designed to feel more like an experience than a traditional session, whether it’s a seasonal setting or just because!

The benefits of a mini session

High impact in a short window.

You get the same intentional direction, thoughtful composition, and polished editing — just in a condensed timeframe. It’s a streamlined experience with a gallery that still feels just as meaningful.

Specialty locations you won’t get year-round.

Mini sessions are often hosted in curated, seasonal, or styled spaces that elevate your photos and make them feel unique. You’re investing in both the images and the experience.

Perfect for busy families (and squirmy littles).

Shorter sessions keep kids engaged and happy, which means more genuine smiles and connection. It’s efficient, lower stress, and still results in a joyful, frame-worthy gallery.

FAQ

When I should choose a mini session instead of full session?

Mini sessions are perfect if you want beautiful, intentional images without the time or planning that comes with a full session. They’re shorter, thoughtfully designed, and held at set locations — which means less decision-making and a smoother experience overall. Minis are especially ideal for families with young or energetic kids, seasonal updates, or documenting a moment you don’t want to skip but don’t need hours to capture.

How many final images can we expect to receive?

Each mini session includes 15 high-resolution, hand-edited images. What makes this experience different is that you’ll choose your 15 favorites from your gallery — so the final collection reflects what feels most like you, not just my picks. It gives you the freedom to select the moments, expressions, and connections that matter most to your family.

How does the booking process work from start to finish?

Booking is simple and straightforward. When booking, you’ll receive a short questionnaire that helps me get to know you, your family, and what matters most to you — so even in a shorter session, your images feel personal and intentional. A 50% non-refundable retainer is due at the time of booking to secure your spot, with the remaining balance due 14 days before your session. That's about it!

Can we purchase additional images and upgrade to the full gallery?

This is absolutely an option in case you fall in love with more than your 15 images! Of course, there is no pressure on my end to do so.

"When we arrived Kaylee was warm, welcoming and a joy to work with. My 4 year old was slow to warm and so she let him even take a few pictures with her camera. My two older boys said that they felt so comfortable with Kaylee taking their pictures. Even though my youngest was less than cooperative, Kaylee rolled with the chaos and our family's vibes- she captured AMAZING pictures despite that obstacle.

Not only was so encouraging and kind, but she made the 15 minutes fun and it flew by. We had our pictures back within a week and we ended up wanting one of every shot she sent to us."
